Handlebars --- Flobots

I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars

I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars

Look at me, look at me
hands in the air like it's good to be
ALIVE
and I'm a famous rapper
even when the paths're all crookedy
I can show you how to do-si-do
I can show you how to scratch a record
I can take apart the remote control
And I can almost put it back together

I can tie a knot in a cherry stem
I can tell you about Leif Ericson
I know all the words to "De Colores"
And "I'm Proud to be an American"
Me and my friend saw a platypus
Me and my friend made a comic book
And guess how long it took
I can do anything that I want cuz, look:

I can keep rhythm with no metronome
No metronome
No metronome

I can see your face on the telephone
On the telephone
On the telephone

Look at me
Look at me
Just called to say that it's good to be
ALIVE
In such a small world
All curled up with a book to read

I can make money open up a thrift store
I can make a living off a magazine
I can design an engine sixty four
Miles to a gallon of gasoline

I can make new antibiotics
I can make computers survive aquatic conditions
I know how to run the business
And I can make you wanna buy a product

Movers shakers and producers
Me and my friends understand the future
I see the strings that control the systems
I can do anything with no assistance

I can lead a nation with a microphone
With a microphone
With a microphone

I can split the atom of a molecule
Of a molecule
Of a molecule

Look at me
Look at me
Driving and I won't stop

And it feels so good to be
Alive and on top
My reach is global
My tower secure
My cause is noble
My power is pure

I can hand out a million vaccinations
Or let'em all die in exasperation
Have-'em healed from their lacerations
Have'em all killed by assassination
I can make anybody go to prison
Just because I don't like'em and
I can do anything with no permission
I have it all under my command

I can guide a missile by satellite
By satellite
By satellite

and I can hit a target through a telescope
Through a telescope
Through a telescope

and I can end the planet in a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust

I can ride my bike with no handlebars

No handle bars

No handlebars

I can ride my bike with no handlebars

No handlebars

No handlebars

A great song with a strong political message behind it.
Kudos to the Artiste for taking a swipe at the USA Govt.
We need more of such people to wake up and tell the masses
what really is going on in this world.
Have you really woken up from your sleep?
Or are you still believing in all that fairy tale the mass media
make you all believe in?

No matter how angry I get or how frustrated I get when I'm teaching my students,
at the end of the day those small funny moments will always give me a lift and make me smile.

"Cher, why you always never smile one ?"

I then smiled at them, obligingly

"Eeee smile also not ikhlas(sincere) one"

hahaha.
They will always amuse me with the questions that they come up with.

I've become somewhat like a camel, drinking lots of water.
To be exact, close to 2 litres of water in 6 hours during school hours.
Why?
Teaching PE lessons and then shouting at kids in class to keep them in order.
Thumbing down defiant students(ohh yess, you should see for yourself how defiant they are!),giving cold hard stares to the lesser behaved ones and making sarcastic remarks to the more intellectual kids to grab their attention and get a reality check.
Its all part of the job.
Its a good thing I have not lost my voice.

Everyday is a completely different day altogether.
But at the end of the day, you have to love these kids and believe that you can really make a difference in their lives.

I've been teaching for more than a month already,
and its been quite an experience.
Who knows, whats my next step will be.

ponder...ponder...

If you wanna know how patriotic Singaporeans are,
you should have watched the parade yesterday and how spectators and performers alike braved the rain.
Either that or you can view the Live Webcam of LTA showing Woodlands Checkpoint and Tuas Checkpoint in the evening later or tomorrow evening(tomorrow is still a school holiday) to see hordes of Singaporeans coming back from a long weekend of holiday.

You should have seen the amount of cars on the road.
It would make you wonder, "Where are the rest of the Singaporeans?"
Well I couldnt have been a happier driver, tearing down the highway with minimal traffic yesterday.

Well so much for patriotism.
Lets just stick to enjoying ourselves.

Enjoy the long weekend folks.

Its already more than a week since I started relief teaching and
so far, its not that bad.
Apart from the difficulty of managing notorious kids, I'm doing quite fine.

One of the downsides...
Even after shouting and scolding my class, some of the kids still have the guts to test my patience further. This only happens in my sec one normal tech classes.

Funny moment of the week...

"Cher, are you a Malay or a Chinese?" --- Malay Girl

"What do you think?" --- Me

"You look like Chinese but you sound like a Malay" --- Malay Girl

"Errr...hahaha" --- Me

I'm not kidding.
That conversation really happened.
I mean seriously, how Chinese-looking can i be.
I was surprised that she even asked that question.
Now, I cant help but laugh whenever that conversation kept replaying in my mind.

I dont even want to think of what other questions they would bombard me with when they next time i see them.
