"Life is like assembling a jigsaw puzzle. At times it may be smooth sailing and get it all pieced up nicely, at other times we get stuck in a moment. However at the end of it all, we always get it done after countless tries and various strategies applied." -Md Danial Jaffar-Hahaa
Well thats my analogy of life.
How i wish i can make that a copyright. hahaha
Theres no instruction manual to tell you how to piece the puzzle-pieces together.
Its up to us to decide on how to solve the puzzle.
Life is like that, there is no direct solutions to everything.
We need to find our for ourselves what suits us and is best for us in order to solve the problem.
When we're stuck, we try and try again or look for different alternatives.
We only fail when we stop trying.
And we only fail when we stop believing that we can accomplish it.
I merely have words, some pointers, a pair of listening ears and moral support to spare.
I only want the best out of my friends.
I dont want to see my friends in pain and agony.
I can only pray and hope for the best.

Its always great to get away from camp.
The air is so much fresher and full of life as compared to the air I breathe while in HTA where its so stale and dead.
Talking about dead... the compound of HTA used to be a cemetery and you can still see a chinese cemetery right opposite too.
So there you have it, I would rather be away from that place.
Furthermore as the days go by, I keep hearing more ghost stories about HTA.
The usual pontianak, wailing child and black and white apparitions still apply.
And the bad thing is other trainees from other coys seems to be saying that
Foxtrot coy(my company) is haunted.
They say a pontianak is haunting my coy.
haha wth.
Well i'm not too bothered about the stories.
Coz everytime we're always in the company of others.
The only time where it gets eerie and scary is when you wanna go to the toilet all alone at night.
I admit to singing in the showers and talking to myself when i'm all alone in the toilet in
an attempt to make as much noise as possible (so you dont hear things you dont wanna hear!).
hahaha
Well i do believe in the supernatural coz my religion states there are such things and I did have an encounter with one before.
No i didnt see that thing, i just heard it in the form of scary dragging footsteps.
(go and search in my archives if you wanna read about it. May 2005)
Ok enough of the supernatural, i wanna meet my friends.
Last week i didnt get the chance to go out because of that Operation Pandora 2 (the rioting).
Now i'm gonna grab a cuppa or two.
Adios.

Dont be too bothered about my previous post.
It was just one of those shitty days and i over-reacted.
Well who wouldnt when they are dead tired, sleepy and upset/angry.
So you know what to do, avoid me when i'm in that situation.
You wouldnt want to know what I CAN do.
Alright enough of that.
Firstly replies to tags:
Feeza: yeah my bunk can be a mama shop. You can find all kinds of sweets and biscuits. =)
umar: shuddup giler!
Serena: You're welcome. Take care =)
-Li- : spare tyres??? LOL no way! in fact its quite the opposite. A sixpack is on the works!(now only 4pack haha)
[ez] :Who doesnt love food ??!! hahaa We live to eat!!!
dhiyaaa: sure no problem! Next weekend would be goood!
-Li- :Thanks gal =) i'm ok. dont worry =)

All we did in the past week is learning how to riot.
You would be wondering, why in the world would policemen learn to riot.
The answer is, we're just role-playing as rioters/protesters to train the police force in case there is a riot during the IMF conference in September.
And believe me, rioting is FUN!!!
If you're an adrenaline junkie, rioting is just for you(but dont do it in sg. details later).
When else can you shout vulgarities at police officers, make obscene gestures, vandalise cars, jumping on top of cars, whack the SOCs( Special operations Command or the riot police) or the Gurkha Contigent and throw objects at them.
It was great!
But of course it would be pretty stupid if you were to do that in real life in Singapore.
You would get arrested eventually...
and boy are the Gurkhas intimidating.
Dont mess with the Gurkhas when they are on duty!
Even though it was just an exercise, the Gurkhas really whacked us hard.
There was this once i got arrested and was literally manhandled by them when we resisted being arrested.
The end product: i was nearly choked, and was bruised due to them strapping the nylon cords on my wrists too tightly.
hahaha
But all in all its a great experience.
Even though my weekends were burnt, i wouldnt wanna miss out on rioting in sg.
haha
alright i'm tired. i wanna sleep.
And damnn ...
I have to go back to camp tomorrow morning.
Saturday, May 20, 2006, 10:26 am
I've got to take another path to reach my goals.
Coz the doors that leads me to it, is locked.
```````
Alright I feel fucked up.
A lot of things happened in the course of the week.
(This is the time when you ask me whats wrong)
(But too bad i wont list them all here)
Mostly its because my weekends are burnt.
I have to go back to camp later!!!!!!!!
Can you believe that!
Fuck it!
Pardon me for the obscene language.
But that pretty sums up how i feel right now.
Alright i wanna take a nap.
bye
Argh!!!
how you hate the feeling of going back to camp.
Blardy hell (cusses the gahmen)
All good things come to an end, eventually.
Just came back from IMM just now.
I'm all stocked with snacks for the week.
Hopefully the supplies can last much longer than one week.
But thats asking too much if you ask me.
I have squadmates who come from other bunks and
scavenge on my bunk's supply of snacks.
(Notice the choice of word used. They usually pester us and demand for food and acting all shameless)
hahaha
My bunk usually pool up resources and in our freetime, we have a little picnic behing locked doors (not that we're stingy with other squad members, the food is just aint sufficient if we were to share with the rest).
Alright enough of food.
I have to run a few errands before packing my bag.
See ya all next weekend!
And please do keep tagging even when i'm away!!!
Alrite then, ciao.
Temptations run wild whenever you get your pay.
I just received mine yesterday and I've already splurged myself on food.
Oh yeah i met up with my fellow Odac-ians from pjc for dinner yesterday.
As usual, their choice of eating places become constrained as I'm the only Muslim around and as such a compromise is met and we ate at Secret Recipe.
I ate the Noodle in Tom Yum Goong, had Choc Mud Cake for desert and an Iced Blended Cappuccino.
In all it costs 20 bucks.
Worth it if you ask me, along with the joyful company of my friends.
Alright back to the subject of pay, i already have a couple things i wanna buy.
I also wanna treat my family to dinner later.
And of course i wont forget my friends.
They deserve a treat too.
(Weekend slots are up for grabs on a first-come-first serve basis)
(LOL i must be one shameless bastard!)
Oh yeah talking about weekend slots, one of my squadmates made a remark of being missing in action for 2 of their outings already.
Haha I cant help it man, you cant expect me to cancel an outing with someone i already promised. ( I dont break promises)
But thats the problem when you have too many circle of friends.
You would be in a dilemma and at the end of the day some people would be disappointed.
Thats life, man.
ok thats all for now.
Friday, May 12, 2006, 3:48 pm
I dont make empty promises.
Neither do i make promises that i cant keep.
I shall remain true to my words. =) =) =)
And oh yeah, policemen never lie either.
haha
, 10:52 am
Alright like i promised, here i am updating more on life in police academy.
But first things first, replies to my tagboard.
feeza -hello =) haha yeah they're really an interesting lot . you get all kinds in my squad =P
Sya - its ok i'm back anyway.
-Li- okayz you take care too gal and yeah when are you, ez and Me[ssy] gonna plan another kopi or tea-break sessions?? (haha i'm so shameless)
Me[ssy] yeah gal i'm fine =) thanx for dropping by. Hope to see ya soon =P
Rizal - LOL. Enough of that lar hahaha. Its bad enough hearing that everyday and now out of camp ur reminding me of that! haha. hope ur fine man. slamatz!
rin- helllooooo. =) hope ur fine gal. we'll all meet up soon. =)
``````````````````````
I cant believe I've already spent one month serving the nation in the police force.
Time sure passes by fast.
And I think my first allowance is already in my account. (havent checked yet)
I've already planned out what i wanna do with all that money.
Firstly I'll treat my family to dinner, then treat my good friends (have u been good to me lately??) haha
Then i'll buy myself new earphones coz my current one seems to be going awry.
Then maybe i'll a new bag to bring to camp so that i dont have to lug that gawdy and huge police bag with its big logo at the side.
Yeah thats about it.
This week seemed short because firstly i walked in to camp on monday morning as compared to our standard sunday night and secondly i walked out of camp on thursday evening.
Even though its only four days, we accomplished quite a lot in that period.
People seem to say police is slack, however we need to learn loads of stuff.
Besides the obligatory physical training and marching drills, we must learn swimming and life saving.
We also must know how to protect ourselves and thus we learn police defensive techniques and the t-baton. We must know how to shoot a revolver with accuracy.
We must also know the law and all the standard operational procedures, police general order and all that stuff.
As such we are forced to hit the books again and sit for examinations.
Well from the way i put it, it seems that life aint that slack in police.
However we do have time in between lessons to go back to our barracks and "recharge our batteries" before going for the next lesson.
I did my ippt and i only manage a silver.
As usual my 2.4 km run pulled me down.
I think i have to do more running on my own at night to get that coveted gold!
I had my second frame of shooting too.
In my first frame i didnt get marksman as i was too nervous.
It was still the case when i went into the shooting range.
I got all pumped up with adrenaline when i held the revolver.
But this time round i managed to compose myself.
I was so overjoyed when i got marksman!(more than 80%)
Swimming was quite tiring as it had been a while since i really swam for such long periods.
We are taught on how to save a person in deep waters.
Luckily my partner was skinny and light.
I almost choked myself on the chlorine water and almost become the victim when i was role-playing as the saver. haha
During those law lessons, i almost slept as i was so tired. My eyes were literally lifting weights haha. But luckily i didnt fall asleep or i would have to "knock it down 20" or run around the parade square hahaha.
In pdt we learned different varieties of arm locks. By the end of that lesson, everyone was twirling their wrists to counter the pain afflicted on us when we were practicing it.
ok thats all for now.
Thursday, May 11, 2006, 10:21 pm
I'm back!
I've got 3 days of freedom!
I wanna watch movies.
I wanna drink kopi.
I wanna lepak one corner.
I wanna see my friends.
I wanna hang out in town.
I wanna play bowling and pool.
I wanna go out on dates (LOL as if!!!!)
I want this and that...
Theres so many things i wanna do but so little time.
Thank goodness i've only got to divide my time between family and friends.
Imagine if i'm still attached...
Lucky or unlucky, you decide.
But i would rather it remain this way at the moment. =)
More updates coming tmr!
Stay tuned.
And please keep tagging even when i'm away at camp!!!!
Sunday, May 07, 2006, 8:06 pm
Weekends are meant for us to enjoy and celebrate.
But not so for me, for this particular weekend.
Firstly i came home from camp all tired and sleepy
because of the stupid GE.
Therefore i spent my saturday dozing on my bed in the afternoon.
Secondly i came home from camp coughing away.
I wanted to go out today but i was coughing quite badly.
So in the end i slept at home again.
Pathetic man.
Now I'm on the road to recovery.
Hope i'm well enough to do my ippt next week.
I cant afford to miss this ippt because i missed the last one as i was also sick.
Damn... pray hard that i'll recover in no time.
Ok lets talk about my squadmates.
Its already four weeks and you can really see their true colours.
There are nice people and also at the same time back-stabbers.
And i'm sad to say that one guy who backstabbed the whole squad (he complained to our field instructor that the squad was not co-operating with him when he was squad leader)
is already being outcasted.
He's being labelled "number 1".
Probably it meant public enemy number 1.
Then there is one master of "chao keng" or malingering.
There is also a guy who simply annoys and irritates the whole lot of us.
And the list goes on and on.
You get all sorts of people.
And if you know me well, you would know that
I'm quite critical when judging a person's character.
However i do try to at least be impartial and not be so rejective of them.
But in some cases, i just cant stand them...
All in all, my squadmates are really great if you look at the big picture.
We're really a bunch of jokers.
I guess ns in police isnt so bad after all.
Being a slackers that we all are, police academy IS the place for it.
Like what my squadmates like to say, "Welcome to Police!"
haha
alright see ya guys again next weekend!
Saturday, May 06, 2006, 8:15 pm
Okays I'm back again.
The most exciting thing: Getting deployed to escort ballot boxes to polling stations. Duh! my squad was lucky to get chosen to be deployed. Its the first time we don the police uniform in public and do real police work outside!!!
The most aching time of all : Doing 200 + (we certainly lost count) push ups and 400 + jumping jacks in a span of 2 days. Well most them came in the form of punishment. haha. At night, we are so tired that we can fall asleep while our muscles ache all over.
The most fun lesson: Police Defence Tactics at the Dojo. We get to use the t-baton, arm lock our partners and learn all kind of stances and defensive techniques. And yeah the instuctors there can be funny too.
The most slackest part of the week: Our OC Squad (officer in charge of squad) was not free to give us lessons coz he had to attend a course. In the end we were just given a task of planning a presentation in our barracks and at the same time we slacked lar. (Welcome to Police!!!)
The saddest moment of the week: Going to the barber and got our haircut again. Just when its starting to grow back... (haiz sad) We are mangkuk once more!
My favourite part of the day is at night. Sometimes we may have night classes, sometimes not.
Its the time where we slack, talk cock and sing song. Some of them will play board games or uno.
Sometimes we polish our boots. It can get quite contagious really if we see one person start polishing their boots, others may follow and there would be a competition to see whose boots are the shiniest. At other times when i'm in the mood, i would go for a run, lift weights or train on my chin-ups.
yeah thats all for now.
see ya
, 3:20 pm
Sleepy, tired and literally sick right now.
I slept for less than 2 hours last night because
I was deployed to escort ballot boxes for the general elections.
(Blardy hell!!!)
Alright I shall very soon.
Right now I'm gonna retreat back to the comfort of my bed.
ciao.
Monday, May 01, 2006, 6:38 pm
I finally get to meet new faces after weeks of seeing the same faces of my squadmates.
I met up with my first 3 months clique but sadly only Joshua and Si Qian turned up.
The rest (fizh, waiwai and candy) were missing in action.
As usual i had to wait for them and it turned out they arrived 45 minutes late.
So i went to Raffles City's Starbucks and waited for them.
Luckily for me, Liyana was working at that moment.
I would like to thank her again for the hot cocoa. Thanks gal =) =) =)
When Si Qian and Joshua turned up, we went to Marina Square for lunch.
We were spoiled for choices once again.
In the end we ate at Cavana.
Slacked for awhile and then we went to the arcade!
Played daytona, some military shooting game and my all-time favourite, Tekken 5.
Joshua left after that coz he had to buy some stuff at Beach Road before booking in.
So in the end, Si Qian and I went to the Starbucks at Suntec's Tower 2.
Isrin already told me the day before that she would be working today.
I tried the new frappuccino with java chips while si qian had her mocha frapp.
Si qian left after that leaving me all alone there.
I was about to leave before Isrin told me not to leave coz she wanted me
to try out the new banana frapp and banana cream.
They were alright and i was already full and bloated after all that.
I think I drank enough coffee to last me for 2 weeks.
hahahaha
She took a little break and she walked me out of the store.
She made a remark of how dark(tanned) i already am (its only 2 weeks and i'm that dark???)
and also kidded about the state of my hair. (yes its still like mangkuk!)
Went home after that.
I reached home, took a shower and then went out to eat dinner with my family at West Coast.
I'm now at home and in an hour, i will be marching back to HTA albeit reluctantly.
Next week my saturday will be burned due to the GE.
So i dont think i'll get the chance to go out.
Hopefully the week after next, where we have that long weekend again, I get to go out and see my friends again.
And yeah, do go and plan something will you?
hahahaha
