Being blessed with too many choices can be a curse in itself.
How ironic.
You're heaved with the pressure of making the right and wise choice.
Failure upon doing so and we're left reeling in regret.
Spoiled for choices.
Never a good thing.
You either hurt people or you hurt yourself.
I've been down that road far too many times.
Seems like i'm plagued with this curse.
, 9:58 am
Disappointment wells up inside.
But I just remain silent.
Venting it would just destroy my pride.
Meanwhile I'll just suffer and bear the torment.
Thats life...
You dont get everything.
Saturday, April 29, 2006, 8:12 pm
I've been told, i cant blog specifically on things that goes around in camp.
I can only be vague in my writing.
Thats what my friend said.
He told me one of his friend got sent to the detention barracks for blogging specifics.
Is this breaking the OSA???
Damn i cant say much now.
Hopefully i wont be penalised.
, 8:47 am
Alright back to blogging business.
First things first, replies to tags...
rin: haha the gahmen's sending the guys off for ns lar. blame the blardy gahmen lar haha
feeza: yeah they cut my hair! but not to the extend of being botak though :P
rin: you're right rin =) haha. but the term "mangkuk" sounds so insulting for the new trainees
Rizal: err no he is not my FI but i've seen and heard that he is a very good FI. In fact they say he is the best FI there!!! My FI is sgt hup seng.
Sya: thanks sis.
si gile : allrite i'll get it from you.
feeza: haha its ok gal i dont mind =P
fuzzy: wassup man I'm doing great in there. Its quite slack really haha.
-Li- yeaps its great to be back =) you sure are right! its slack giler haha.
0_0 : wassup man! of course i know! haha. met ya a few times already but didnt manage to talk hahaha.
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Hmmm where should i start?
Alright i'll start off from morning till the night.
wake up.
flag raising.
physical training.
on days where we have marching drills, we have to
make sure that our pants and shirt are really ironed.
Our shoes must also reach a certain standard of shine.
If we fail in any of these areas, we either knock it down 20 or run around the parade square.
Drills are quite boring actually coz we keep doing the same thing over and over.
Sometimes we have police defensive tactics in the morning too.
We will learn defensive techniques and also learn how to use the t-baton.
Its quite fun but a bit tiring sometimes.
Besides that we also have swimming lessons in the morning.
So far we had only one swimming lesson.
We had to declare if we knew how to swim or not.
And for the swimmers, we had to tread water for 15 minutes !!!!!
I managed to hold on and stay afloat throughout the freaking ordeal.
Mostly we have classes in the afternoon after lunch.
My squad is fortunate to have a humorousl Overall-in-Charge of Squad (OC Squad).
He is the one who teaches us all that law stuff and all that police procedures stuff.
He is sure to make us laugh every few minutes with his jokes and funny remarks.
We also learnt how to shoot a revolver.
Well its really my first time handling a firearm.
And the time when i first pulled the trigger will be etched in my memory forever.
I was already shakened when i heard my other squadmates pulled the trigger before i did while in the shooting range.
Never in my life would i have imagined holding something so powerful.
The moment i pulled the trigger it goes BANG!!!!
And there is the obligatory recoil of course.
All that shooting in the arcade didnt even prepare me for that. hahaha
I admit my aiming pretty much sucks.
I didnt get "marksman" for my first frame.
I actually aimed at the target's chest but somehow some of my shots hit the target's eyeball,right in the nose, its throat and even the 2 testicles!!!!!
hahahahaha
it was really a laugh when we showed each other our targets after the shoot.
After dinner its mostly free time for us.
Sometimes we may have night classes but thats rare.
I'll just sit around play card games with my squadmates or indulge in polishing our boots
or just talk cock and sing song.
We always look forward to this part of the day.
After all that crap, our lights out will be at 1030 pm.
All in all, i think its still quite slack to be in police academy.
and of course being slackers that we all are, its really like a holiday resort there.
hahahaha.
Like what my squadmates like to say, "Welcome to Police!!!"
Friday, April 28, 2006, 9:34 pm
i'm home!
mentally and physically tired at the moment.
i shall blog tomorrow.
dont fret.
just wait another day.
dont complain either.
coz the police is always right. (well it appears so anyway)
hahahahahaha (bastard! i'm only in the police academy for 2 weeks plus and i'm acting like a brainwashed idiot who thinks he's always right)
well thats what they preach by. (erm i think so)
hahahahahaha
ok enough of crapping.
Since i've already signed the OFFICIAL SECRECY ACT (OSA),
i cant simply reveal all information about my training. (its all bullshit really, but waddaheck!)
So from now onwards i'll have to restrain myself from divulging too much information. (as if ! )
hahahaha
ok thats all for now.
Sunday, April 16, 2006, 4:54 pm
In a few hours time I'll be marching back to camp.
And the sad thing is, I'll be confined for 2 weeks!!!
2 weeks!!!
I already dont feel like returning to camp.
haha
I'll be counting down the days till walk-out day. (In police academy, we dont call it book-out day)
Theres no doubt about that.
I'm even bringing a mini calendar to strike the days off.
I always look forward to walk-out day.
And there will be more for me to look forward to if you guys plan a get-together or an outing for me. hehs =P
So far Si Qian has suggested a clique outing of some sorts when i walk out at the end of the month
and -Li- also mentioned about another mini fuchun-ian get-together with ezie and Me[ssy].
hahaha
okays thats still a long way to go.
I'll go through shit no doubt in these 2 weeks and I'll get 'tekan-ed' like crazy too.
So its always a good thing to have something to look forward to after all that shitty ordeal.
Ok guys if theres anything just message me around 1900 to 2230 hours.
I hope my handphone battery can last 2 weeks without charging.
(I cant bring a charger and charge my handphone there.)
okays see ya in 2 weeks time!
bye bye!
Saturday, April 15, 2006, 5:41 pm
Being botak in this rainy patch of the year is seriously a bane.
Firstly we have no protection whatsoever against the rain
as we can feel the raindrops beating on our scalps.
Secondly our head loses warmth and our skull feels cold pretty fast.
And lastly without any reference to the rain at all,
we dont look good at all in this state. ( you mean you dont care about the way you look???)
Yeah for those who're not enlisted yet, you can laugh all you want.
Your time will come muahahahahah!
Well right now whenever we're in camp the new trainees would
be subjected to ridicule from the senior trainees. ( normal wat!)
They would call us newbies, 'mangkuk!!!!'
Well because their hair have grown back and we just had our hair cut.
You want a photograph of me in uniform???
Well wait till my hair grows back ok !
hahaha
Damn...
one last day outside of camp before i'll be confined for 2 weeks.
Friday, April 14, 2006, 9:25 am
Yeah I know you guys would be surprised I'm already back so soon.
Fortunately for us the Good Friday Public holiday is really a blessing
and because of that our confinement week starts next week.
Meaning, next weekend I cant come home.
I'm now a Trainee Special Constabulary (TSC).
Notice they dont call us recruits in there.
haha.
Well Ns in the police academy is alrite.
Its probably because they havent treat us like dogs yet
and the "tekan-ing" session is not so crazy yet.
The place there is boring really.
The only sounds you hear would be of people marching ,
the constant droning of "Left, left, left right... "
or Field Instructors shouting at squads
or the counting of doing push-ups.
The food is alrite.
Sometimes they serve not really appealing food and sometimes it can be heavenly.
For instance, once they serve us roasted half chicken, 2 buns, potato wedges, mushroom soup and ice cream!!!
My squadmates are ok too.
Its only 3 days so i dont really know them that well yet
and they really havent shown their true colours yet.
Oh yeah my squad is the fit squad.
And boy, they are really damn fit.
Theres 2 bodybuilders in my squad!!!
haha
My Field Instructor (FI) is a well respected one.
I admit he is tough and firm with us but he is also very reasonable.
When other senior trainees asked us who our FI is
they responded in a way,"Him ah???? I say good luck to you all haha".
The bunks are very new considering we are only the second batch to be posted there.
Theres only ten beds in each bunk.
And i have the bed nearest to the door.
So everytime when an FI steps in our bunk, I have the obligation of shouting
out loud, "Room Sedia!!!"
Everyone would have to stand at attention while the FI would inspect our bunk
or give further instructions.
The day schedule would be something like this...
Wake up around 0530 hours.
Fall in at 0600 hours.
Physical Training starts around 0630 hours.
Breakfast will be around 0800 hours.
Then we'll have lessons!
yes lessons. We'll be learning the law, the penal code and all that criminal stuff.
We'll also learn shooting, the t-baton and others.
Then lunch around 1300 hours.
More lessons.
In the evening we'll have marching drills.
Dinner would be around 1800 hours.
The day's programme is supposed to end at 1900 hours.
But in the first week or so, the FI would take up
a few hours of our time to make us practice our marching drills.
Our free time is from 1900 to 2230.
And only during this time, we can switch on our handphones!
So if u wanna message me or gimme a buzz,
you can only do so during this time period. =) =) =)
Lights out is at 2230.
You would say its early, but after a long day, everyone would just knock out.
Yes I have received my police uniform.
Feels weird man wearing it.
I cant believe I'm a policeman!!!!
hahahaha
Tomorrow is the BIG DAY !NS...Woah it seems like it was only yesterday that i was back in kindergaten.
Time is mercilessly leaving me in its wake.
I cant believe I'm already 19 and on the brink of leaving behind my teenage years.
And it also seems surreal that I'm leaving for HTA tomorrow.
It'll be just like any other beginning and i hope it'll be a fun one.
Its time to reminisce and relieve memories of the past...
I feel like doing so, i dont know why...
Kindergaten years...
I remembered sneaking out of the classroom while the teacher wasnt around. I took my chair (we were tiny back then) unlatched the lock and ran home. hahaha
I got my nose squashed coz one fat kid landed on my face while we were doing those round round merry go round. hahaha
Primary school years...
(Fuchun pri.)
I remembered witnessing one of my classmates falling into the school pond.
That memory is still as vivid as ever.
Kiddish or puppy love back in primary one and two? yeah there were a couple of instances where my guy classmates and i utterred the first, "ehh I like that girl !" hahaha
I got transferred to another school because my family sold the house in Woodlands and settled in Jurong East instead.
I was touched my classmates and schoolmates in Fuchun pri. gave me farewell letters and most of them hoped to see me again some time in future.
Well only 4 of them got their wish. (Eziee, Liyana A , Liyana J and Sharifah) =)
(Fuhua Pri.)
Settling down in a new neighbourhood and school appeared to be a breeze.
Made new friends easily.
I only liked my primary 4 and 6 class.
I dont know why but i guess i just loved the class spirit in these 2 years.
Sang in a duo/trio/in a group in front of the class.
Haha i could hit the high notes back then.
Secondary School years...
Kranji Sec.
The start of the teenage years!
Made new friends.
My school had folk dance as part of the curriculum can you believe that????
I used to chase after cina gals. (well right up to jc i was still chasing after them haha)
I didnt really like my soccer cca.
I had fun making up excuses to the cca teacher-in-charge on why i cant go training.
I kept such a low profile in sec. school.
I was probably a geek back then.
I would go unnoticed or people would not even give me a double take.
However i still have 2 best friends that still stick together after all these years (umar n yatee)
Junior College Years...
I suddenly turned rebellious and became more outgoing.
Chased after gals like a "buaya" until my guy friends were envious
that i was so friendly with so many gals. hahaha
They even labelled me 'playboy' and 'flirt'.
Violated a dozen school rules but i always got away with it.
Climbing over school fences became a norm.
Was damn active in my odac cca and i was given leadership roles which were quite "alien"
to me but in the end i handled them quite comfortably.
There were days i skipped school but turned up for my cca.
School was depressing.
I always wear that depressed and "dao" look on my face in the school compund.
At least i was more famous in jc than i was in sec school. hahaha
Everywhere i turn in school, i would bound to know at least one person and they would acknowledge my presence. hahaha
I loved my jc years minus all the stressful workload and studies!
haha
Transition from jc to HTA...
I went on an expedition to climb Mount Kinabalu.
I fell in love.
I had my heart broken.
Picked up the pieces slowly.
And after that i enjoyed being a swinging single bachelor.
hahaha
I took up the job as an outdoor camp instructor.
Learned the hard way that working life is way soo much different to school.
When i'm not working i either slacked at home or go out with my friends.
To all of those who went out with me in the past weeks,
I would like to thank you for making my day!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed your company and hopefully i'll catch up with all of you when i'm free ok.
Dont be sad, I'm still gonna be in sg though !
Do continue tagging!
haha all the best to everything that you do =)
2 Days left !ok first things first...
replies to tags on tagboard-
feeza:- heyz thanks gal =) yeah we'll meet up real soon k. and remember to
safekeep that cd-rom for the time being =)
faris:- haha yeah yeah i'll tell ya when i see one.
nurul! :- haha but u still get to see me on some weekends! haha thanks =P
hany:- yeah i'm really enjoying life at the moment. thanks =P
cherryn:- thanks chio bu! =P haha yeah i love camps. especially when it involves silly banana cheers hahaha
ok here's a summary of events of the past 2 days.
Friday:-
I went down to plaza singapura after my friday prayers.
Hopped to the starbucks there for a mocha frappe.
Why there of all places?
Coz I kinda made a promise to aish to come down and have a cuppa at her workplace
and the other day on msn she went "Hey you havent been to my workplace yet!!!"
hahahaha
so being the mr nice guy that i am, i obliged =P
Then in the late afternoon i had a mini fuchun reunion.
I met up with my ex-classmates after 11 years!!!
Liyana A and Liyana J still look recognisable but I wouldnt be able to
recognise Ezila if i had met her on the streets.
Had fun reminiscing and had a few good laughs.
Saturday:-
Went down to crescent gals funfair.
My sis forced me to go and further enticed me with free coupons.
So yeah being the nice brother that i am, i also obliged.
Luckily Umar accompanied me, albeit reluctantly.
Met up with alot of people.
Ezila, Rita, Nurul Baddriah, Izzati , Donica ...
(yes I know people from cgs and ex-cgs !)
The funfair was nothing special but probably because i'm getting too old for such stuff hahaha
After that Umar and I met up with Yatee for lunch at Marina Square.
We played at the arcade, played pool and bowling!
Haha it was a laugh watching Umar and Yatee playing pool.
And bowling is always a joy.
I got five strikes in a game and beat my previous personal best.
After all that, we chilled at Arab Street.
They got all emotional when we were bidding our farewells.
They are my best friends and we've known each other for like 7-9 years.
I'm glad that we still could stick together after all these years.
To all my other friends...
Thanks for the well wishes.
And hopefully we'll meet up real soon.
Take care!
Fauzy told me it'll be like a holiday camp for me.
hahaha
Hopefull he's right.
Wednesday, April 05, 2006, 10:44 pm
I've heard some really amusing stories.
And I've heard stories where it left me in disgust.
For now its the latter.
Hahaha Good riddance to you.
I may sound mean but really i should shove a mirror in front of your face.
haha.
, 11:21 am
Oh yeah i almost forgot.
I got scouted for some model thingy again while i was in town.
Its the second time already.
But this time its a company called Create Talents.
I cant believe I'm getting all these attention.
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
I went to town yesterday with one of my best friend, yatee.
Ok to avoid further misunderstandings I'll set the record straight.
Shes not my gf and she even has her own bf.
Haha!
I cant even go out with a girl without people asking me, "Hey thats ur gf???"
I think our society's mindset has warped to the point where they
dont believe in the idea of a platonic relationship anymore.
(well not all of them are platonic hehs =P )
Too bad.
I guess I have to live with it and reply sarcastically, "Yeah thats one of my many gfs!"
hahaha
Ok since the other best friend of ours ,Umar was working as attachment, he couldnt come.
Went for lunch at Far East before going to Wisma.
While walking to Wisma, Yatee suggested we meet up with "Si Gile".
"Si Gile" by the way is Umar.
haha.
We gave him close to 40 miss calls on his handphone coz he didnt pick it up.
Then we went to Topman where I used the Giftcard my instructor friends gave me as a present and bought myself a nice polo-t. Thanks to Yatee, she made me try out 6 tops before finally settling on one.
Then we went to Taka's Delifrance coz one of my friend works there.
I bought an eclair and my friend who works there gave me and yatee free ice chocolate.
Thanks Mira!!!!
I wanted to buy new earphones, so we went to Best Denki to browse through.
They were freaking expensive and so in the end i didnt buy them.
Umar called us in the end and he was ecstatic to hear that we were going to meet him after work. He told us he was so excited that he couldnt concentrate on his work.
Since his workplace was at Bukit Batok, we decided to meet up at West Mall.
When we reached West Mall, Umar still wasnt there yet and both of us killed time there wandering around and even played at the arcade.
Umar called at last saying he'll be late and his tone was that of shaking with fear.
Yatee and I guessed that he was "kena fucked-up by his boss" hahaha
and we were right.
He arrived at last and the first thing he did was complain about his work and his boss.
Typical of him.
We just sat outside Jollibean updating each others lives, had a few laughs and then they planned an outing for me on Saturday.
Meeting up more people this week.
Hmm this evening meeting another group of friends.
6 More Days!!!!!
Tuesday, April 04, 2006, 11:13 am
7 More Daysbefore enlisting into Home Team Academy (HTA).
Not much time left!
Oh yeah i just finished reading Animal Farm by George Orwell.
Alrite i know i'm a bit slow and lagging behind.
Anyway its a great novel.
Since i took history back in sec. school, i was able to guess accurately the
actual events that took place in The Russian Revolution in which George Orwell cleverly disguised and retold it in the way he did in the novel.
That is one marvelous piece of work.
I just called the office to check whether my cheque is ready.
Damn it, its not.
They better give me my money before i go in ns!!!!
ok thats all
Monday, April 03, 2006, 9:30 am
Firstly I would like to thank every single one of you who wished me
a Happy Birthday be it by sms, tags or friendster testimonials or on msn.
Thank you all once again.
I'm touched haha.
Secondly to those who thought it was another April Fool joke
well you thought wrong haha.
Thirdly I'm left with only 8 days left before I'm going into HTA.
To those concerned, you know what to do eh.
Dont regret it when I'm already inside camp. haha
Well my 19th birthday was great.
I keep receiving messages telling me I'm already soo old.
In fact yeah I do feel old.
Already in my last year of teenhood and watching my life past me by.
And to make matters worse, I'll be wasting this precious last year of being a teenager
in NS !
By the time I'm out of NS I'll be 21 and legally classified as a adult
plus having the right to vote.
Damn thats fast!!!
Ok back on track...
Well like on most of my birthdays, I always spend the first day with my family.
Went around malls looking for my birthday present.
Finally I got myself this new mp3 player from Samsung.

Then after that we went to Swensens for dinner.
As usual, we can get free ice cream from them if you dine on the day of your birthday.
When one of the waiter was bringing the firehouse ice cream to my table, they played the
Happy Birthday song on the speakers.
hahaha everyone else in the restaurant looked up to see whose birthday it was.
Man that was embarrassing haha.
On the second day, my mom made the family wake up damn early and with my dad, they dragged my siblings and i to Macritchie.
My mom wanted to go to the Treetop Trail and so we did.
I love nature and hiking seems just like any other walk to me, so I loved it.
Well I was kinda disappointed at the Treetop Trail.
It was short and the view up there wasnt what i expected.
It wasnt much of a view coz the trees were blocking it.
Then in the late afternoon, I met up with my colleagues from F.I.T.
Those crazy instructor friends of mine heh.
As usual, they were late and i ended up waiting for them on my birthday outing!
haha
We went to Lau Pa Sat for dinner.
Had satay and grilled sting ray!
sumptuous man!
And before they handed me my birthday present they forced me to drink my green tea which tasted weird.
I later found out that they poured salt in my cup!!!
And yeah i got my birthday present.
They gave me a Topman Giftcard. (Sweeeeet!)
Thanks Aida, Alfred , Din , Niven and Yang !!!
After that we slacked at City hall area.
Went to the Merlion and the Esplanade.
Had a great time there before going home.
Thanks again everyone!!!
Saturday, April 01, 2006, 9:23 am
I'm 19 !
Yeah !
